Sir Barnes Neville Wallis ... statue created by Tom White and placed on the Cultural Trail in Herne Bay, Kent, England on 11/15/08.

1887 - 1979 Scientist, engineer and inventor. Most noted for his invention of the bouncing bomb used in the dambusters raids and flown in by the Lancaster Bombers in WWII.

Barnes Neville Wallis was born the son of a doctor on 26 September 1887 in Ripley, Derbyshire. Wallis worked first at a marine engineering firm and in 1913 he moved to Vickers, where he designed airships, including the R100. In 1930 Wallis transferred to working on aircraft. His achievements included the first use of geodesic design in engineering, which was used in his development of the Wellesley and Wellington bombers. When World War Two began in 1939, Wallis was Assistant Chief Designer at Vickers Aviation section. Barnes Wallis went onto design the bouncing bomb, where he held the trials off of the shores of Herne Bay.

"A Heritage of Love & Learning"

This life-size commemorative bronze sculpture scene was commissioned by Al Svajgr of his deceased wife, Judy, who was a beloved teacher in Cozad, Nebraska. The life-size bronzes were placed in the children's section of the new Wilson Memorial Library in Cozad, Nebraska in July of 2001. Children love to touch and interact with the bronze sculptures, or to look over Judy's shoulder at the intricate relief of "Peter Rabbit" which Tom has carved into the book. This Limited Edition life-size bronze sculpture scene is available for purchase by Libraries and Public places, children's ministries and clubs.

Tom placed a life-size Memorial Bronze sculpture of Medal of Honor Recipient, Pfc. Emory L. Bennett at Riverfront Park, Cocoa, Florida in 2007.

"Welcome the Children" ... Bronze life-size sculpture scene of Jesus and children commissioned in Memory of Brittiney Wish Bevin who went to be with her Lord, September, 2003, at the age of 17.
