Tom White Bronze Sculptor, wolf sculpture TOM WHITE - Resume
 Figurative Fine Art Bronze Sculptor

"The overall expressive qualities, the poignant gestures, and the dramatic poses of Tom White's bronzes are what make this artist stand apart from his peers.  He is an artist of considerable talent and potential."
... Beth Venn, Curator of American Art, Newark Museum, 11/06/06

West Texas native Tom White is a self-taught artist who has a background in carpentry and is currently located in Bethel, Maine.  At the age of 30, Tom discovered a hidden talent for art in many forms.  Tom is being touted by key figures in the world of art to be among the most formidable artists in today’s contemporary art arena.  Numerous life-size bronze sculpture scenes incorporating several figures each are located across the United States and Canada featuring an array of powerful subjects including soldier war memorials, biblical scenes, family memorials, teachers and children.  Tom is passionate about depicting and honoring heroes of all eras and many private collectors have acquired Tom’s original creations including, but not limited to, Native Americans, sports heroes, family portraits, public figures, religious and biblical figures, children, family pets and craftsmen.

In Tom's portrait bronzes, he has the unique ability to go beyond capturing just the face and form into capturing the spirit, character and essence of a person.  Tom’s duplication of exact likenesses is unparalleled.  His mission is to “honor God and his fellow man through his art in lasting bronze.”   His dramatic figurative bronze sculpture scenes feature exhilarating movement, exquisite attention to detail, emotional impact and reveal his unique expertise for isolating and uncovering the character and spirit of his subjects.  In the Artist’s own words, “I believe that ‘the face’ is the mirror of the human soul and the map to the character of the spirit within.  All of my work is geared toward capturing that elusive quality that makes us endure, grow, live and love as human beings in the faces of the subjects being depicted.  Bronze is a difficult medium to bring warmth, passion and life to, but for some reason, this comes easily to me.  I thrive on evoking a reaction from people who see my work.  When I see people burst into tears or laughter when they first see a sculpture I have done of someone they know, that is the reward in itself, and worth every effort.  I find immense satisfaction in touching people through my art.”

Tom White’s lasting creations in bronze leave an indelible mark on the heart of all those who experience the impact of their timeless messages of strength and frailty; love and life; loss and pain; courage and endurance.

Tom’s figurative and portrait bronze sculptures, including his soldier war memorial, have been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine publications, television and he is affiliated with galleries in Colorado and Maine.
