crosses draw crowds to Texas prayer garden
At the Coryell Community Church in Gatesville, Texas, the towering white 70-foot crosses and rugged bleached boulders create the dramatic prayer garden setting anchored by the life-size, monumental "Christ Our Rock" bronze statue and a pair of Tom's "Children" sculptures balance the natural setting of granite boulders. Dedicated Easter 2012.
"The prayer garden gets more beautiful as time goes by, and so many continue to be drawn there. It seems that almost every time I go there to work, I stop to pray with a stranger that has come there with a heavy heart. Our Lord's anointing spirit abides there. We are so blessed!" — Lenora Sappington, one of the gardem designers (from email dated Sept. 6, 2012)
