joined by "Toddler" adds perspective to Christ scenes
This life-size portrait bronze sculpture was created of a lovely young woman with a beautiful heart and spirit that Tom and his family were privileged to know. Following her tragic death in a car accident, it was an honor filled with sorrow and grief for her family for Tom
to create the
"Traditional Teen" statue.
Tom sought to capture this young woman's beauty and quiet grace from the top of her head ...to her toes ...and through
the elegant tips of her fingers. She exuded wonder and faith, and is missed on earth and rejoiced over in heaven.
One of the joys of her life was working with children on various missions trips. The scene includes life-size statues of Jesus with children and graces her gravesite at
Cavehill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tom used his grandson, Vance, as a
model for the child on the "Traditional Teen's" back.
The scene is called "Welcome the Children" and many elements of the scene have been placed around the country in Ohio, New Jersey, Georgia, Arizona and Canada, with existing and new sculptures commissioned for the various monumental bronze statues of Jesus and children.
